2024-25 Activities

OUTREACH CAMP---OUT REACH AWARENESS CAMP IN SOUTH 24 PGS on 04th August & 9th September 2024 In the year 2023, from some specific areas in south 24 parganas district significant number of drug addict patients got admitted in our institute. As per the survey of our experts, we identified few areas in South 24 Parganas district and decided to organize awareness camps in those areas. We organized those camps primarily in Canning, Sonarpur and Baruipur block level with the help of local Police Station, Gram Panchayet and Primary Health Care Center. Almost 350 drug addict patients got benefitted from these camps.

KOLKATA POLICE PROGRAM---Sit & Draw Competition by Kolkata Police on 19th June 2024 Kolkata Police organized a sit and draw competition in the Dojo Hall of Police Training School at 11AM onwards. Atleast 10 NGOs participated in this event. 6 participants from Sonarpur Moonlight Foundation participated this sit and draw competition. Respected DC D.D special, ACP Narcotic cell Sri Bireswar Chatterjee and OC Narcotics Sri Arun Kumar Dey were present in this event. On behalf of Kolkata police, Sri Arun Kumar Dey O.C. Narcotics presented certificate to every participants from Sonarpur Moonlight Foundation.

VIRAL HEPATITIS B & C AWARENESS PROGRAMME---Viral Hepatitis B & C Awareness Programme - To celebrate world hepatitis day on 28th July 2024, Sonarpur Moonlight Foundation organized a road campaign(tableau) and distributed leaflets to the passersby to increase awareness among the local population about the disease. This tableau visited mainly Sonarpur, Rajpur bazaar area.

Anti Drug Day---International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking observed 26th June 2024- On the occasion of World Anti Drug Day on 26 June at 10 AM Sonarpur Police Station organized a awareness rally from Sonarpur More to Utpal Dutta Mancha with the help of local NGOs and school students. Respected S.P Baruipur Police District, Shri Palash Chandra Dhali and other high ranking IPS officers were enlightened the rally. Moreover famous footballer Mehtab Hossain were also present in this event. At the end of the rally followed by a awareness program, where the representative of Sonarpur Moonlight Foundation made a power point presentation explaining the devastating effects of drugs and the process of recovery. In the middle of the programme every guest got a memento from Sonarpur Moonlight Foundation.
2023-24 Activities

RAKSHYABANDHAN CELEBRATION --- 30/08/2023

SARASWATI PUJA CELEBRATION --- 14/02/2024 Saraswati puja was organized on the auspicious day of 14th February 2024 in our instititue. All the inmates and patients fully enjoyed the puja and subsequent feast.

HEPATITIS DAY --- 28th July 2023 -In the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, 28th July 2023, we took various activities to celebrate. We organized a awareness tableau at Rajpur, Sonarpur, Mallikpur and Baruipur. From this tableau we distributed leaflets provided by health department. We organized a viral Hepatitis health camp among the high risk population on 27th July 2023 in Mallikpur. Here are some pictures from those events.

DOCTORS DAY--- 1JULY 2023 The 1st July 2024 in the afternoon the Doctors Day celebration was performed in the organization's hall room. All members of the organization attended this ceremony. On behalf of Sonarpur Moonlight Foundation our General Secretary Sri Biswajit Debnath facilitated respected Professor Dr. Srijit Ghosh on this Doctor's Day event. Prof Dr. Srijit Ghosh is the HOD of Department of Psychiatry at Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital. After that all the board members and medical staff facilitated Dr. Srijit Ghosh as well.

FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT---FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT COMPETITION AMONG RECOVERING ADDICTS - 13th September 2023 With our recovering addicts we participated a football tournament competition at Rajpur on 13th September 2023. Intention was to enhance the self-confidence of the recovering addicts. Similar way we do participate in different sports and competitions through out the year.

ANTI DRUG DAY---International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking observed 26th Jube 2023 Like all previous years we celebrated World Anti Drug Day at Sonarpur Moonlight Foundation in this year. Our General Secretary Shri Biswajit Debnath, respected IPS officer Shri Mohit Mollah , Shri Sanjib Chakraborty (I.C Sonarpur P.S) and Sri Arghya Mondal (Officer Sonarpur P.S) were present in this ceremony. The main theme of the ceremony was to protect the students fraternity from drug addiction.
2022-23 Activities

ANTI DRUG DAY---In the occasion of International Day Against Drug abused and Illicit Trafficking observed 26th June 2022 we organized an event with collaboration with Chittaranjan National Medical College and Hospital at OST Center, Pavlov Hospital. In presence of Dr. Ajay Roy MSVP CNMCH, professor Dr. Srijit Ghosh HOD, Department of Psychiatry CNMCH and other doctors and health workers, we distributed cloth and food to around 60 HIV patients. CLOTH DISTRIBUTING CAMP---On 23rd December 2022, a winter cloth distribution program was organized in Raidighi, South 24 Parganas, for the destitute and marginalized people from the locality. On this day we distributed nearly 450 blankets to the people. Officials from Raidighi Gram Panchayet, local NGO and many general people were present in this programme.
2021-22 Activities

COVID 19 VACCINATION PROGRAM---With the help of BMOH, Subhashgram Rural Hospital we were provided the Covid-19 vaccine (second dose) all the residents of Sonarpur Moonlight Foundation.

WORLD AIDS DAY---In this day we were attending a rally followed by a meeting at CNMCH second campus. The rally and the meeting was held in presence of respected Dr. Ajay Roy MSVP CNMCH, respected Superintendent of Kolkata Pavlov Hospital, respected Prof. Dr. Srijit Ghosh HOD, Department of Psychiatry CNMCH and many other doctors and nurses.

ANTI DRUG DAY---An event was organized with the help of OST Department of CNMCH. Many dignitaries like MSVP of CNMCH, deputy Super, HOD of Department of Psychiatry and many more shared their thoughts while attending the event. On behalf of the organization, the General Secretary and coordinator facilitated the respected guests of CNMCH

OPD PSYCHIATRY--Respected Sonali Roy Councilor of Rajpur Sonarpur Municipality ward No 25 performed the Ribbon Cutting ceremony on 10th April 2018 to inaugurate dedicated psychiatric OPD in the administrative building of Moonlight Foundation
