Registered NGOTransforming Lives Through Dedicated Care Since 2011
Building on our success, we have opened doors to clients from all over West Bengal and other states. Since 2011-12, we have been proud to reach out to support thousands of people, helping them achieve their own personal recovery and live healthy, fulfilling lives.
We work hard to support countless families and loved ones as they rebuild their lives. We have helped many employers support their workforce in tackling addictions, enabling employees to remain productive members of society.
In cooperation with the National Viral Hepatitis Control Program (NVHCP) and the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, we host awareness programs across South 24 Parganas to counsel, screen, and identify Hepatitis B, C, and HIV among high-risk populations.

Organizational Background
Founded in 2011 with a clear vision and unwavering commitment to transform mental health care and create a healthier, drug-free society.
Our Beginning
Founded in 2011, Sonarpur Moonlight Foundation set out with a bold mission — to become a leading organization in the mental health sector, create a drug-free society, and contain the spread of HIV and Hepatitis.
Our Impact
We create impact in today's society where drugs poison our youth, domestic violence rampages communities, and dangerous diseases make society inhabitable. We empower women through skill-building and anti-drug awareness programs.
Our Mission
To rehabilitate addicts through content treatment, indoor follow-up services, family counselling, and vocational training — making them self-dependent members of society. Mental health is the most important aspect of rehabilitation.
Mentally ill patients suffering from addiction, depression, anxiety, and anger issues are treated in our foundation — because we believe a person with a good mentality also makes a good member of our society. During our journey, we received immense help from local authorities and government support, for which we remain deeply grateful.
Prolonged usage of different substances leads to Mental Illness. Addicted users often suffer from HIV and Hepatitis B & C — often without realizing it — and unknowingly continue spreading the disease to other users or sexual partners. We as an organization dream to guide these lost individuals out of the dark dungeons and into the sunlight.
Depression, anxiety, impulsiveness, anger issues, and violence are all treatable. Our society needs to address these as real problems and act accordingly.
The majority of injecting drug addicts suffer from HIV and Hepatitis B or C. Treatment for these diseases is expensive — so we seek to link them to various government-led initiatives to help them treat themselves and protect society through precautionary measures.
While dealing with addicts, we discovered that a significant portion were suffering from HIV — mainly transmitted among injecting drug users. This led us to expand our focus toward the welfare of injecting drug users alongside our mental health work, as we believe a drug-free society leads to the overall well-being of both patients and their families.
We aim to provide a safe space for mentally ill patients and recovering addicts to express their thoughts and feelings — helping them lead a normal and socially accepted life. A mentally sound youth directly results in a drug-free society and a society free of AIDS and Hepatitis B & C.
We dream to guide these lost individuals out of the dark dungeons into the sunlight — because Depression, anxiety, impulsiveness, anger issues and violence is treatable; our society needs to address these problems as real problems and act accordingly.
